Where we Live and Play!!!

Hi, Laurie & Chris here…we live in Arden, NC just outside of Asheville, NC along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our home is at an elevation of 2200’ above sea level. We are surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains in Western North Carolina with Mount Mitchell being the highest peak on the Eastern Continental Divide at an elevation of 6684’ above sea level. Now, just about everyone knows cycling is a huge part of our life and moving to Asheville has turned out to be a great fit because of all the wonderful cycling here. When you get a chance check out “Local Events/Races” link. It has always been a dream of Chris’s to move to the mountains in this very area. We are lucky to live here and enjoy every moment we have together in this amazing place.
Now as much as we talk about cycling we both have many other interests. One that we have in common is we both enjoy taking pictures, and we hope you enjoy some of our work on this web site. Laurie has a degree in photography along with being a master artist (as Chris would call it) with Photoshop. Chris has been taking pictures ever since being photo editor of his High School year book. We both have photographed weddings, but we don’t do it as a living and we only do it for special occasions of close friends and family when requested. Laurie’s favorite thing to shoot is macro images where as Chris enjoys photographing people and their emotions in a candid shot. So don’t be surprised to see flowers, close friends and family all over our web site.
Laurie works for two professional photographers Don Klumpp and Anne Rippy. You can view their work here: www.donklumpp-annerippy.com . Chris also is sometimes their assistant on photo shoots and keeps their office computers running in tip top shape.
Chris is still working for the Memorial Healthcare system as an I.T. Client support analyst, whatever that is. He still enjoys his work with Memorial and thinks working at a help desk is a wonderful career path.
Chris also enjoys making his yard look spectacular, and has come a long way since we moved into our new house several years ago.
Laurie can’t wait for her craft room so she can paint, glue, cut, tear, sew….just basically create!!! Meanwhile she is trying to catch up on creating photo albums from all the fun places she has visited
